BUDDY KEMP CARING HOUSE
CLIENT: PRESBYTERIAN HEALTHCARE SERVICES
CONTRACTOR: R.T. DOOLEY
LOCATION: CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA
PROJECT TYPE: NEW CONSTRUCTION
SIZE: 5,800 SF
This project for Presbyterian Healthcare Services will serve as a counseling center for cancer patients and their families. The concept of the Caring House is to provide a more comforting environment than the main hospital or the medical office building for cancer patients seeking counseling services. The 5,800 sq. ft. building has the appearance and feeling of the perfect "Thanksgiving House". The main interior spaces of the caring house consist of a library, group meeting rooms, and counseling offices as well as a residential kitchen and volunteer work space. Special design features include a grand monumental staircase beneath a dormer and feature window which brings light into both floors through a 28' vertical shaft. |
